ACE COMBAT 7 SKIES UNKNOWN will transform gamers into true pilots, allowing them to pilot a high-speed fighter jet and shoot down a variety of opponents in highly realistic battles unfolding in the vast skies. Various factors will influence the pilot's control, including his or her training, emotional state, mission difficulty, and weather conditions.
The player will have to spend some time mastering classic aircraft piloting techniques in two modes: one for experienced pilots and one for greenhorns. If, for any reason, a mission in ACE COMBAT 7: SKIES UNKNOWN fails, the player can use a save point to resume the mission from that point. The player should always be aware that clouds will interact with the aircraft. If the aircraft remains surrounded by clouds for an extended period, its wings and fuselage may become coated with ice, which will immediately impact the aircraft's performance. Furthermore, natural obstructions in the sky can affect the ability to thermally lock on a target and disrupt the aim at the most inopportune moment for both the player and the enemy, who will have to monitor descending and ascending air currents to avoid an unexpected crash. Each aircraft also has three types of weapons in the form of missiles and bombs, which can hit ground and air targets.
